Carried and Held is an ongoing record of everyone who has ever carried or held the artist, printed on museum board. Taking the title card as its medium, the work both quantifies McArthur's care network as an expansive list of credits while pointing towards the unquantifiable, de-materialized aspects of care that happen behind the scenes. Subverting the expectation of a corresponding object in the museum, the work uses disability invisibility as an invitation to imagine intimate acts of care in and beyond the institution.
